The region of an offer is where its machine physically runs, which decides your latency, where your data sits and which volumes you can attach. Every offer in the marketplace shows its city or region and country, and that listing is the only reliable source: stock on each provider changes through the day.

Where GPU VMs run

GPU virtual machines, the instances you can launch from the dashboard or the API, come from 4 providers in 2 areas: Hyperstack also lists machines in Norway at times. There are no VM offers in Asia-Pacific, South America or the United Kingdom. Vast.ai containers, available in the dashboard only and labelled Testing Only, come from hosts in more countries. On 1 October 2026 they included several European countries, the United States, Canada and South Korea. Container locations change often and cannot be launched through the API.

Filtering by region

In the Compute Marketplace, the region filter lists the continents that have offers right now, with a count for each, so a continent with nothing in stock does not appear. Pick one or more to narrow the table. Each offer row also shows its city or region and country. Through the API, filter offers by continent with the continent parameter of GET /api/v1/offers, and read each offer’s regionInfo for the country and city. See Offers.

Regions and volumes

A volume lives in one region and can only be attached to a deployment in that region, at launch. Volumes exist on 2 providers: Verda, in Finland, and Hyperstack, in the region where you create the volume. Choose the region before you create a volume, because a volume cannot be moved. If the GPU you want is out of stock in your volume’s region, you have to wait for stock there, or copy your data out and create a volume in another region. See Volumes.

Choosing a region

For interactive work over SSH or in a notebook, a region close to you keeps the terminal responsive. For training on a large dataset, pick the region close to where the data lives, since moving hundreds of gigabytes costs time. For anything else, sort the marketplace by price without a region filter: the cheapest offer is often wherever a provider has the most supply that day.

Where your data sits

An instance’s disk is in the region of the offer, and it is deleted when the deployment stops. A volume’s data stays in its region until you delete the volume, or until your balance can no longer pay for it, in which case it is deleted permanently (see Billing). DeployGPU does not copy instance or volume data to other regions.
